da poker: With the Cheltenham Festival now less than two weeks away, Betway have sent four West Ham stars back to school for a commentary class.
da casino: After an up and down season on the pitch, Patrice Evra, James Collins, Mark Noble and Joe Hart joined ITV Racing’s Richard Hoiles for a short class before putting their skills to the test commentating over a classic Cheltenham moment.
Hoiles, who was nominated for Sports Commentator of the Year in last year’s British Sports Journalism Awards, was impressed by teacher’s pet James Collins, while Patrice Evra seemed generally confused that he was even there in the first place.
“Mark, before I signed for West Ham you should have told me this!” Evra is well known for his social media personality and influence, but it’s fair to say he did not love this game.
This year’s festival starts on March 13th, you’ll get good odds on Patrice Evra making an appearance.
Captain Mark Noble was tasked with commentating over the iconic fall of Annie Power, the 4/7 favourite tripped at the last hurdle of the 2015 Mares’ Hurdle, costing punters an estimated £40 million. Judging from Noble’s reaction, we fancy he might have had a couple quid on the favourite.
Joe Hart impressed Hoiles with his facts, but we’re not quite sure the England keeper grasped one of the lessons they were given in the classroom.
Who do you think could make the best commentator? And who was the only one to remember the horses’ colours? Watch the video and find out…
