da realsbet: Former Norwich City defender Jon Newsome believes the Canaries should be targeting a mid-table finish on their Premier League return.
da dobrowin: Despite winning promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking last season, Daniel Farke’s side have still seen talisman Emiliano Buendia depart for Aston Villa.
The Argentinian completed his switch to Villa Park, which was a club-record deal for Dean Smith’s outfit, last month.
The funds gained from the transfer has already helped Norwich to sign the likes of Milot Rashica from Werder Bremen for £9.4million, while the newly-promoted side also fought off stiff competition to secure the loan signing of Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour.
Having suffered an immediate relegation to the Championship during their last stay in the Premier League, Canaries fans will be hoping for a different outcome this time around.
Newsome feels Farke and his squad should finish comfortably clear of the dreaded drop zone.
Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, he said: “Buendia’s move puts you in a really strong position to go out and splash a bit of cash to get to that level where you’re competing in the middle of the Premier League rather than in that relegation scrap.”
