Paris Saint-Germain have finally announced the signing of Gabriel Moscardo from Corinthians despite their initial concerns following a medical.

The Ligue 1 champions triggered the 18-year-old's €20 million (£17m/£22m) release clause tobeat the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona to his signature. His signing was kept under wraps as medical tests on the player detected a foot fracture. However, those at the capital club have since cleared his move, with the official announcement coming on Thursday.

After signing on the dotted line, Moscardo said: “I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain, it is one of the happiest days of my life. It is a project with talented young players. I can't wait to join the group and meet the whole team and staff. I hope to win many trophies under the Red & Blue colours and make the supporters happy."

Moscardo will be loaned back to Corinthians until the summer where he will continue to gain senior football experience before making the move to Parc des Princes. He is also required to undergo surgery to recover from the foot injury that initially delayed his move. This will reportedly take place in Doha, Qatar.

After missing out on Endrick to Real Madrid, PSG kept no stone unturned to bring Moscardo to Paris. It is believed that the club's sporting director, Luis Campoa, even flew to Brazil to convince the player as Chelsea and Arsenal were also in the hunt for the player. PSG are currently top of the Ligue 1 standings, eight points ahead of Nice, and will return to action against Brest on Sunday evening.
