The Lowdown: Stuijk involved in sad incident
da brwin: The Whites may have lost 3-0 to the Reds on Sunday afternoon as Marcelo Bielsa’s side suffered a disappointing day at the office, but Harvey Elliott’s injury was the main talking point from the game.

The Verdict: Big impact
What happened to Elliott was sad to see, given his potential as a young and upcoming player, but there was no malice in Struijk’s tackle.
Granted, there is an argument to say that it was endangering an opponent, but a red card seemed harsh and reactionary, with the referee clearly feeling the need to take action once he had seen the consequences of the tackle.
It was a decision that is sure to divide opinion, but Struijk can think himself unlucky if the appeal isn’t successful. And, following Diego Llorente’s injury, this decision could have a massive impact on the next couple of weeks of the season for Bielsa and co.
In other news, Hay has also provided a double injury update. Read more here.
