da casino: Former Manchester United star Lou Macari is confident that Luke Shaw will come good once he has fully adapted to his new surroundings.
da pixbet: The teenage left-back shone for Southampton last term and earned himself a £27m move to Old Trafford over the summer – making him the most expensive U-20 player on the planet – but despite his hefty price tag he has made very little impact over the course of his first few months at the club.
Louis van Gaal was critical of the youngster’s fitness upon his return from England duty for pre-season, and since then he’s featured infrequently – with a 45 minute cameo against Sunderland his highlight so far.

Some have suggested that Shaw is destined to be a big money flop, with the price tag he commanded weighing heavy on the 19-year-old’s shoulders.
But Macari – who played for the Red Devils in the ‘70s and ‘80s – believes that once he’s adapted to the massive changes in his personal and footballing life, the highly-rated starlet will show what he’s capable of:
“He did okay in his 45 minutes against Sunderland but he can do better and I have seen him play better as well,” he told the Manchester Evening News.
“But it has been a lot to take on board. Going from Southampton to playing for England at the World Cup in Brazil and then to Manchester United with a huge price tag.
“The jump in football doesn’t get any bigger. In six months his whole world has changed around dramatically. Any lad making that journey will find it hard.”
“He seems to me to be a level-headed lad so I think he will cope with the good times and the bad,
“He is going to need time.”
