da bet sport: Leeds United are currently in the thick of the Championship promotion race. Marcelo Bielsa’s side received a boost with Sheffield United failing to beat bitter rivals Sheffield Wednesday on Monday night, as the draw ensured that the Whites retained second place.
The Elland Road club are desperate to secure a return to the top flight this time around and are getting closer to achieving that aim. If they do make the jump, then there is one man in particular who former Leeds and England full-back Danny Mills thinks has the capacity to flourish in the Premier League.
What he said
Speaking on the LS11 podcast, as quoted by This is Futbol, the 41-year-old said: “You don’t come through the Chelsea system and have all those loan deals and moves, and do very well, unless you have ability…The way he plays is probably better suited to Premier League football, but he’s never quite been able to sustain it for an extended period. He’s been at big clubs in high pressure situations. That’s what it comes down to when you’re looking to get over the line.”
Are fans being priced out of the Championship as well as the Premier League? The angry Bolton fan in the video below certainly believes so…
Mills clearly thinks that the 25-year-old striker has the capacity to shine in the Premier League, and he may well get the chance to prove him right next season if he can fire the Whites to promotion this time around.
Bamford’s movement and composure certainly make him stand out in the second tier. Perhaps now, with that extra bit of experience under his belt, the forward is finally ready to prove his worth at the very top level.
