da leao: [ad_pod ]TalkSPORT pundit Adrian Durham has reportedly labelled Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa as the fourth-greatest sporting coach of all time – a claim that Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay has unsurprisingly called “somewhat ludicrous” on Twitter.
Durham has been banging the drum for the Yorkshire outfit in recent weeks and recently asked whether they are the most entertaining team outside of the Premier League in England in history, but he has gone a step further with his latest comments.
Now the 49-year-old has picked the Argentine as the fourth-best coach across any sport ever, which is obviously a crazy thing to say no matter how enigmatic he is or what he may have achieved at Elland Road so far this season.
He said on talkSPORT (March 19, 5:41pm): “My number four is Marcelo Bielsa, the Leeds United manager, I know your shaking your heads but thankfully this isn’t just about winning trophies.”
In fact, Chris Wilder and Daniel Farke would certainly have something to say about Durham’s comments given their clubs are currently above the Whites in the league standings.
While Hay says he is a “huge fan of Bielsa”, he clearly doesn’t agree with his fellow journalist’s opinion – and who could blame him?
