da pinup bet:
da dobrowin: [ad_pod ]This article is part of Football FanCast’s Transfer Focus series, which provides opinion and analysis on recent transfer news…According to Paraguayan media outlet ABC, Crystal Palace scouts were in attendance of Paraguay’s Copa America clash against Colombia to watch Palmeiras centre-back Gustavo Gomez in action, and the 26-year-old’s recent exploits suggest he would bring an added bonus if he did sign.
What’s the word, then?
Well, ABC report that the Eagles are closely following the former AC Milan defender, who is described as being “in the best moment of his career” by the source at the current time.
The captain of the South American country could help his nation pick up two points from their three 2019 Copa America group games, although one of those was against Lionel Messi’s Argentina.
Meanwhile, he has shown his defensive prowess for his club side in 2019 too, conceding just two goals in 12 games across the Brasileirao Serie A and the Copa Libertadores when he has been on the pitch, as per Transfermarkt.
It is another of his records for the Brazilian club that suggest he would bring something that is much needed for Palace next season if he moved to the English capital.
Goal record
Gomez’s primary job would clearly be to keep the goals out if he was playing for Roy Hodgson’s men, but he has an eye-catching record at the other end of the pitch, too.
According to Transfermarkt, the 26-year-old has scored six goals in 29 outings in total for Palmeiras, which is clearly a very impressive record for a central defender.
Even though they did manage to find the net on 51 occasions in their 38 Premier League fixtures in 2018/19 – boosted by the five they got against Bournemouth on the final day – only one of those goals came from a centre-back.
That was when James Tomkins scored against Liverpool in January, and it would surely be a big boost if they could get more goals from that position next term.
If Palace sell Wan Bissaka and Zaha, will they be in another relegation battle? One fan gives his opinion in the video below…
Gomez appears to have all of the attributes to make a difference at both ends for Palace should a move materialise.
